The District took advantage of the State’s desire to surplus 41 acres adjacent to Sonoma Valley Regional Park. Between the communities of Glen Ellen and Agua Caliente/Boyes Hot Springs, this very visible property along Highway 12 originally was part of the Sonoma Developmental Center. Transferred directly to Regional Parks at acquisition, this District-protected property, covered with open meadows and oak woodlands, will now be developed, through a community master planning process by Parks, as an addition to this popular well-used Park.
